Anderson Ranch

So this weekend was a reminder of the good ole days for me. Jef, the kids and I took a trip down mommy lane this weekend. We went overnight to Anderson Ranch Resevior near Mountain Home Idaho. It was a lot less than I remember it. The water was down considerably. We set up camp by the water on dry lake bed, which last time I actually camped there, in 1985 or 86, was under water lake bed. Like most trips to somewhere Jef's co-workers haven't told him is the coolest he is a negative Nelly until he decides it is cool enough for him. By Friday evening I had him convinced it wasn't that bad. We had a great time swimming in the water, which my boys have never really done in a lake before and we did do a little motocross riding. Mason is still figuring out the bike and the rocks proved to be a bit much for him. Logan loved it as usual. Dad even got some time in between the boys. Cole got to go for a ride with big bro Logan and was very mad when it was time to get off. I am very sad to report though that mom forgot the camera so no pics for this trip. I decided on this trip our next "toy" was going to be a boat. I forgot how much I loved being in/on the water. Anderson was the very first place I tried to water ski and I emphasize "try" greatly. I never actually got up. I was about 10 and Uncle Dennis had set up Grandpa's boat to pull a line. I never got up but boy the memory is so vivid and remembered as having the greatest time of my life. I don't think now it would be as fun being jerked up then back down and under water for some time until I remembered to let go as fun. We are planning another camp trip this weekend for the Ward Campout. It should prove to be very stressful then very fun just as all our trips are. I will keep you posted.

Sounds like a great weekend. Maybe someday when we get a free weekend, we can try to schedule in another family campout. Great memories you are creating for your boys!
