Just wanted to update my blog a little. Mason got his cast off last week and is now sporting a nice black splint. The doctor felt his arm wasn't quite healed all the way for an active boy. Yes we went to the appointment in karate clothes. So he has to wear the splint for 4 weeks (why didn't they just put on another cast???) and go back into the doc and be rex-rayed. He wants to ride his bike and just play like all the other kids but if we want to have a nice healed arm then we have to do it the doctor's way. So sad for him and us.
On a happier note for Mason, we have been watching his friend Bryer after school 3-4 days a week. So he has a permant play friend almost every afternoon while Cole takes a nap. The two boys get along real good and have a blast playing legos. I don't think the toy room has got this much action in a long time.
Since the end of summer and school starting Cole had not been going to speech therapy, but we are happy to report he is back on schedule. He is using his words more and more. I think he has a hangup with the word "yes". He will never say it. So with the speech therapist's help we have come up with the saying "want (whatever) please" and it seems to be helping. So if we ask him if he wants a drink he is "suppose" to say "want drink please" instead of always telling us "NO". That is his favorite word.
Logan is doing great in school. I went in yesterday to his classroom to volunteer and got an update from the teacher on his progress. He is reading right where a second grader should at the fall leval and reading site words into the third grade level. We are very excited about that, reading has not been one of his strong points. Miss Furnier also says that he is one of the nicest kids she has in class and really really enjoys having him. He is very attentive and listens well to directions. His piano teacher is also very happy with him these days. He has been doing really well and starting to play songs mom can't. That is really fun for him. (Mom's secret is she is practicing before he gets home so she can help him.)
Jef is coaching Logan's soccer team the Chiefs again this fall. This is his 5th season coaching Logan and our 3rd season with most of the same team. If he is not busy with practice or a game he is busy play basketball or working out. Jef is a real inspiration to me. He works out way more than I could ever dream.
Myself, I have been busy trying to keep up with housework that seems to be neverending. I took this whole week off from the gym to get the house in working order again, now if I can just keep up with it. Young woman's keeps me real busy more than just on Wednesday nights. We have young women's in excellence coming up and I have been asked to do a picture slide show for the girls. So I will be busy scanning pics and getting that all done. I may have to try and put it on here for all to see. Next month my beehives in charge of a "Fear Factor" activity so that will be my next big project.
Well love to all and I want to hear about you so drop me an email or give me a call. I always love to chat.

Way to go, Mason. Now, if he can just be patient and be careful for the next few weeks. That is fantastic that he has a friend to to do legos with. I know Cole is really getting good with his words. I miss them! You guys are awesome parents and inspirations to many people. Way to go with your reading and piano, Logan! Grandma is anxious to hear a book and some piano songs. Wish I was closer to see the slide show and also Fear Factor. Working with young women would be my "fear factor"! You do a great job with the girls.
