Chapter 1

So I said I have been gone way too long and now I am going to post a few chapters of my travels. Starting way back in July (31st) I went to Tie Creek with the young women from my ward to Girls Camp. We were close to the Middle Fork Complex Fire here in Idaho. It was very smoky and we got to see the heli-base about 3 miles from camp. The helicopters flew over about every 20-30 mins., depending on visablilty to fill up with fire retardent.
We left early Tuesday morning. I felt good about leaving the kids, I knew they were in good hands with Grandma Linda. My first accident of the day was right in the driveway. You see I was bringing our camp trailer to camp, for "medical" reasons of course, and ran over the b-ball hoop as I was pulling out. I am happy to report though that is the only thing I hit the whole week. Five of my beehives traveled with me and we had a "rockin" time all the way up. We got to camp all in one piece and the other two camp leaders were there with the Laurels waiting for us. I then proceeded to......back the trailer up! I was sooo proud of myself. My good friend Melissa was my guide on one side and my good neighbor Kevin Gifford was my guide on the other side. I have to say I rocked! I didn't even have to pull forward to correct a mistake. Big Thanks to them. I was on such a high after that. I made sure Kevin was going to tell Jef when he got home.
The rest of the week was "totally awesome!" We did a ton of cute crafts and had a way spiritual testimony meeting to end the week. It was sooo fun. We came home on my birthday..August 3. We did run into some trouble on the way home. We encountered an accident that claimed the life of two people. It made me remember my mom and how much I miss her. I was all ready emotional that day, and that didn't make it worse but just made me sad.
I had such a great time and really learned to love each of the beehives I serve as well as the other girls too. Whether they know it or not I will remember this week forever. Thanks to Linda for taking such great care of my boys while I was gone. Logan even called me "Grandma" on Saturday. I will add some pics later when I get them from the girls.

im glad you had a great time at girls camp. I always loved going to camp when I was in young womens. We always had good times that I will remember too. Its amazing how camp can be so spiritual too. I was a laurel advisor and attended girls camp and I would have to say it was way fun as one of the leaders. Have fun with the girls.

I can't even imagine trying to pull a "trailee", let alone trying to back it up or anything else. Those girls are very lucky to have you for a leader. Grandma loved spending time with the boys.
