We have officially made it to the emergency room for a broken arm. Mason has a green stick fracture in his right arm. I will write more when I get some sleep.
Ok I have had some sleep and feel almost a little better. We were outside cleaning up the garage and all the boys were having fun playing with long lost toys. Logan was riding one of the skateboards (which he is getting really good at) and Mason saw how much fun he was having and wanted to try out ramp too. Mason has rode the skateboards before and I had just reminded him to put his helmet on when wouldn't you know I turn my back and he screams out in pain. I looked over and he is jumping up from landing on his behind grabbing his wrist. He is crying and saying he fell trying to ride the skateboard down the ramp landing on his wrist. I moved it around and he said that it didn't hurt very much so I thought he would be fine. I told him to shake it off he was a big boy. Within the next 10 minutes he got whinier and complained more about the pain. He asked if he could go lay down. Ding Ding to mom it really is hurting he asked to go to bed. I told him to take a quick shower and then he could lay down. He went upstairs and I was finishing the job when Logan came running out saying "Dad says Mason has to go the hospital." I go upstairs and Jef told me Mason had been sceaming about the pain in the shower. I got him out and he had to have me help with his pants, so I decided we needed to go.
Jef gave Mason a blessing before we left that everything would be ok and that Mason would be comforted. He sure was, as we were driving to the E-room he fell asleep. He was a very brave big boy he didn't cry once there and the nurses were very impressed, they kept asking me if he need some pain medication. I told them he hadn't been complaining about for some time (in my mind I knew it was right after the blessing.)
He got to have pictures of his bones and see them. It is called a green stick fracture because the bone did not actually break it is kind of bent. Imagine a green stick from a tree and trying to break it. Mason has a temporary cast on now and next week will get a real one, just before school starts. He will have to learn to write and eat with his left hand for a little while, but he can do it. It was one pretty eventful evening to say the least!

What a good boy to not cry, Avery wishes he could be there to sign the cast!
Mason, you are very brave. Just remember that when you write with your left hand you will be like Grandma...she writes with her left hand, too!
Im sorry you broke your arm. Thats not very fun especially before school starts. Just think you will have a great story to tell your friends. Good luck writing and eating with your left hand!!!
Sorry to hear about Mason. When my boys were small,we were on first name basis with the emergency room staff. It is good to have healthy active boys.
So Mason, when do you get to go back on the skateboard? I'm sure you'll get the jump even better next time :)
